Hidden & Visible Mode
In visible-mode installs, users can pause the app during breaks or personal tasks and see the Berqun icon on their screen. In hidden-mode installs, users don't see that the app is running on their machine.

Visible mode
Employees see the Berqun icon on screen. Two further options can be enabled in this mode: with "users can pause the application when needed", an employee can pause it during a break or a personal task; with "users can close the application when needed", they can shut it down entirely and start it again later.
Hidden mode
The application runs in the background and employees do not see the Berqun icon running. The mode is switched under User Panel → Settings → Berqun Application.
Which one is lawful?
Either can be. What decides it is not the mode but the notice. The first criterion in the ECtHR's Bărbulescu judgment is prior notification of the monitoring and of its nature. With a privacy notice issued, hidden mode is not by itself a breach; without one, there is a breach even when the application is plainly visible.
