What the BQ score measures
The BQ score evaluates activity duration, the applications used and productive working patterns together, and expresses the result out of 100. The point is not to rank people but to reduce "where did the time go" to a single comparable number.
Calculation settings
- Idle threshold — if there is no mouse or keyboard movement for this long, the period counts as inactive. You set the duration.
- Calculation window — whether the score covers a full 24 hours or only working hours. Idle time outside working hours is excluded.
- Pending requests — applications and websites not yet classified as productive or unproductive count as unproductive time until a manager decides.
How often it is calculated
The system recalculates the overall office score automatically every half hour. If you need the very latest value, "Calculate now" triggers the calculation on demand.
Turning a score into a decision
The BQ score is an input, not a decision. Article 22 GDPR gives employees the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing where those decisions significantly affect them. Performance, bonus and termination decisions need meaningful human involvement, and the employee must be able to have the logic explained.
